"Covering the entire range of contents and methods of Büchner-related research, the Georg Büchner Jahrbuch is to serve as a forum for stocktaking and innovation, reflection and debate, source documentation and easy communication, discussion and mutual understanding". Ever since setting this goal in the preface to Volume 1 (1981), the Büchner Yearbook has been striving to achieve its aim in all of its regularly published sections (Essays - Debates - Short Contributions and Commentaries - Documents and Materials).
