As teachers taught through the global pandemic that began in Asia during the later months of 2019 and has since gripped the world, they have employed technology and their training to lead educational change. They have achieved this by riding the wave of a paradigm shift for the mainstream provision of education, predominantly by rising to the challenge of adapting to and delivering emergency remote teaching. Changes moving forward will likely continue with the ever-increasing digitalization of education, the hybridization of education on return to the classroom, and the possible increase of blended and distance learning offerings institution-wide (along with an increasing need to develop asynchronous and synchronous online and offline learning activities and opportunities for learners). This book puts forth a snapshot of how English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers in the Republic of Korea professionally handled the 'COVID crisis', and how they now see their craft, their administrative, teaching, and learning contexts, as well as how their learners should be educated in not only a post-pandemic but possibly a COVID endemic world. It is, therefore, an essential read for any educator, student, administrator, or stakeholder involved with the teaching of English to speakers of other languages (TESOL), particularly those who want to understand how pre-service and in-service teachers are honing their teaching craft, and how post-pandemic pedagogy is currently impacting the educational sector.
