In "From Different Corners: A Collection of Stories From Women" ten authors write about a time in their lives that was revelatory, and now, as they go forward, they get to look back and see how that difficult period, and the pain, fostered depth and a collective understanding of life. This book was created on a whim. As the publisher, both the title and the idea of a collection of different voices came to me from a space that I cannot explain, but it felt right. In the same tone, you will see once you read the writings of these authors, the same thing was going on with them. Some have never been published before. This collection is raw. It is truthful. It is filled with memories of abuse, abandonment, and the quiet cries that no one would listen to until now. Seemingly simple days, filled with dark feelings, are expressed with ease; and as each author takes a breath and steps back to look at their strengths that grew out of feeling alone, we can see that they have risen out of their challenges with reflective pride and humility. Their courage to write about their emotional, material, sexual, and medical abuse will give others the permission to be open about their hardships, hopefully, and to talk about it, write about it, and most of all to be honest with themselves that what happened was real, and there is help available.
