Despite what many have considered to be a rise in the frequency of the narcissistic personality type in modern times, the causes of this personality disorder still elude many within the psychological, holistic, and scientific communities. "Deconstructing Narcissism" attempts to detail the typical childhood origin conditions which contribute to the manifestation of the malignantly narcissistic personality type - namely, a history of being spoiled and/or neglected while being raised. In Part I of "Deconstructing Narcissism," the origins of hallmark narcissistic traits such as a lack of empathy, a lack of remorse, and a need to control are explored and examined. By doing so, the reader will finally gain understanding into the "mindset" behind the behaviors associated with this type of personality disorder and perhaps even compassion. Part II examines the effects this sort of character profile has on the real world. Here, both microscopic and macroscopic effects are observed, from the prototypical abusive parental figure at the helm of a dysfunctional family to Judeo-Christian god "Yahweh" and his Hebraic progeny religions. Part II concludes by challenging the reader's potential to perceive such personality disorders as "evil," allowing the reader a genuine opportunity to feel sympathy for "the Devil."
