This screenplay is based on a true event in British history - the military expedition in 1868 to Magdala in Abyssinia. Sent to rescue the imprisoned British Consul. Only two of the many characters are fictional. The screenplay was a finalist in Francis Ford Coppola's Zoetrope screenplay contest.
