Before Jamie begins to use her abilities, she and her friends are taken at gunpoint to a compound high in the Rocky Mountains by Taber, a self-proclaimed religious leader bent on finding two chosen prophets for a new world order. His followers believe that the start of a new order under his God is inevitable. As if the tortures of surviving as a hostage aren't bad enough, a kaleidoscope of images and voices wreak havoc with Jamie's head, arming her with fleeting clues of the possible destruction from Taber's imminent takeover. Together with Connor, her friend and secret crush, they venture into unknown territory as they try to piece the clues together to figure out the specific details of Taber's plans and make sense of the reason for their own abduction.
