The San Antonio Alamos, Major League Baseball's latest expansion team, are in an exciting chase for their first division title when tragedy strikes. Their plane goes down in a storm and everyone thinks it is the end for the Alamo's. However, with some "Divine Intervention", the team is allowed to return in the bodies of their minor league affiliate, the Columbus Gunboats, who will play the rest of their season. There is a catch (there always is in baseball). To get their old lives back, the Alamos must win all the way to the World Series and not lose it. Can they, playing through the minor leaguers, win? They are given some extra help when heavenly baseball heroes like Ted Williams, Jackie Robinson and Enos "Country" Slaughter, along with others, are allowed to play with them also.
