Mistakenly sent away by plane with relatives, Kihei (buff, poodle-terrier mix) is determined to return to her "human daddy", Colonel Tom. Upon landing Kihei frantically escapes the jetliner's cargo department knowing she must return home for the annual Christmas dinner Colonel Tom provides for the needy. Along the way she meets Lola (champagne, poodle-bichon mix) who was abandoned by her owners. After Lola helps Kihei avoid being captured by the dog catcher they instantly bond and Lola joins Kihei on the adventure of a lifetime. Together they relentlessly cross the nation encountering several funny, heartwarming and sometimes dangerous situations. The pair also comes to the aid of animals and humans they meet along the way.
