Ladj Ly directs this French drama set in Paris where police officer Stéphane Ruiz (Damien Bonnard) has newly transferred to the poverty-stricken district of Montfermeil, notorious for its gang warfare. Working closely with his new colleagues Chris (Alexis Manenti) and Gwada (Djebril Zonga), Stéphane struggles to adjust to his new settings, particularly put off by the heavy handedness of Chris. As tensions increase between the local authority and members of the community violence appears inevitable.
