After the assassination of the Serbian Prime Minister, an ex-British S. A. S. serviceman turned mercenary, Andy Marlow, gets posted to an observation post in the Balkans to work against a military coup. The instigator of the coup was Olodan Cracovic, the ex-commander of the Croat Army, also a war criminal, who raided the U. S. Embassy and took the U. S. Ambassador and his aide captive. Marlow and his team get sent in to carry out the rescue of the team.
