This may be the only album to include all four of Schubert's 1817 Piano Sonatas on a single disc. Sookkyung Cho has devoted considerble work in learning and performing these works.
In 1817 Schubert all of a sudden devoted himself particularly strongly to the piano sonata, composing four piano sonatas in that year. These are all significant works. It is instructive to hear these four works successively.
