Madrugada
The debut album Madrugada arrives only in 1974 and is produced by Mauro Paoluzzi together with Pasquale Canzi (Paki) for the Philips label. Paoluzzi manages to involve Roberto Vecchioni in the drafting of the album, who collaborates in the composition of the lyrics of four of the seven tracks on the disc. The instrumental intro Madrugada I \ 'opens a first facade that falls within the canons of the pop song with two very choral and melodic pieces: Camminar invites you to leave the path with an act of courage while Vieni Nella Strada is more rhythmic and intentionally indicated to be the driving force of the whole album. Uomo Blu, placed at the end, is more elaborate and jazzy and already shows the traits of a much more incisive second side from an instrumental point of view. The second part of the disc is more courageous and experimental, certainly influenced by the frequentations and tours with travel companions such as Area, The Ticket To Hell and the minstrel Claudio Rocchi. If D.M.T. it is still linked to the Californian vocalism with extensive references to groups such as CSNY, the instrumental Mandrax, suspended between Jazz and Avant-garde, is the real apex of the record with the keyboards of Gianfranco Pinto absolute protagonists before the conclusion with the short Madrugada II.
