Tony Palmer directs this made-for-TV biographical drama starring Trevor Howard as German-born Baroque composer Georg Frederic Handel. Penned by John Osborne, the film shows in retrospect from the end of Handel's life, how as a young man he burst into Georgian London society like a whirlwind, shaking its complacency to the core and laying the foundations for an entirely new tradition of British music.
