BOPTRONICS... George Braith inhabits a harmonic world so unique and of his own making that it's often with wonderment that I listen to his music. So rich and vibrant... and completely his own. George has been on his journey a long time. His musical history can be culled from the liner notes of his other releases on Blue Note, Prestige and Excellence. Let's not backtrack here. Forward motion. Let's just say this... George Braith hears and plays harmonies. To play the harmonies he hears in his head, he built the Braith-o-phone. To further that notion, he utilized he own children, The Braith Family Singers. And also for the first time, sings himself (check out "Yesterday Is Gone" and his vocals and SCATTING(!) on "13"). He uses all these elements to interweave the harmonic fabric that no one but Braith could imagine. Using instruments and voices, Braith creates the musical world of....
