While The Band were creating music, they were also creating musical history as they blended elements of Country, Rock, Blues, Jazz and Folk, creating an influential sound that is now called Americana. When they split up towards the end of the '70s, their influence and legacy continued to grow. This 14 track compilation contains just a small, but significant, portion of their very important musical output. It is the perfect introduction into the world of Robbie Robertson, Levon Helm, Richard Manuel, Garth Hudson and Rick Danko.
