Japanese Breakfast is the alter-ego of Philadelphia's Michelle Zauner, and Psychopomp is her critically-acclaimed proper debut album. It explores Zauner's experimental pop interests and hosts a wide range of sounds: jarring anime samples, minimalist ballads, rhythms and synths reminiscent of Tango in the Night-era Fleetwood Mac paired with the moody intimacy of Mount Eerie.
